Meet Me In The Garden

08 02 14_710208 02 14_710208 02 14_710208 02 14_7102Please join the Meet Me In The Garden committee for our free gardening  programs at F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm, 1828 Smith Rd., Akron.  

Our programs are on Wednesdays and start at 7:00 pm.     The Spring/summer programs will begin in May 27, 2020.   

April 22 – Cancelled due to park closure.

May 27 – Earth-Kind Rose Growing:  You don’t need to use lots of chemicals to grow beautiful roses. Learn how to grow and care for healthy roses using earth-kind techniques presented by Cal Schroeck, Consulting Rosarian, American Rose Society. 

June 24 – Gardening Myths and Legends:  Learn how to identify the gardening myths that have no foundation and the gardening legends that have stood the test of time presented by Eric Barrett, Extension Educator & Assistant Professor, Mahoning County Area Leader, College of Food, Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, OSU.

July 22 – Backyard Ponds & Aquatic Plants:  Landscaping with ponds and fountains will transform your yard into a garden oasis. Learn about planning, building, maintenance, and plant choices for adding a garden water feature presented by Rick Reeves, Summit County Master Gardener.

August 26 – Proven Winners Sneak Peak for 2021 and Great for Fall Planting:  Doug will unveil NEW and exciting plants from Proven Winners for 2021 and will suggest great plants for fall planting in NE Ohio presented by Doug Parkinson, Proven Winners Account and Program Development, Four Stars Sales LLC.
